Hi, welcome to Jerusalem Vitrine!
My name is Adi Tsimhoni and I am a fine art painter.
I grew up in Jerusalem and later on studied at the Bezalel Academy of Arts. Naturally I signed up for the Department of Graphic Design. What can I say… I’m a practical person.
Contrary to the responsible plans I had for life, painting began to take up more and more space in my heart. I took courses in drawing and painting, among others with the artist and lecturer Marek Yanai. One day I had this (scary) notion that I might just leave all my studies and dedicate my life to painting.
A few years later it happened and I found myself apprenticing at Marek’s studio in Jerusalem In what turned into eight years of painting. I was greatly influenced by his way of live observation of the world, and how it was expressed through the art of painting.
Together, with a group and also on my own, we spent many hours at the studio and in Jerusalem’s open landscapes. The city and its life constitute a live model and a source of inspiration for us.
I started Jerusalem Vitrine, a display window and small shop, to share a small collection of my works and a taste of Marek’s works, all of which touch on the enchanting nature of the city.
